Form Follows Function

Ever since @Lenovo got rid of touchpad buttons on ThinkPads, they're out of consideration for buying. ThinkPads are now just like any other crappy thin & light ultrabook. If they add touchpad buttons below besides the ones at the top for TrackPoint, they may be worth buying again

The older your Activity History gets in Windows-as-a-Scam, the slower and more unreliable the Win+Tab/Task View feature becomes to load your bigger and bigger activity log. Apparently it has no way to discard activities after X days setting.

So Task View in @Windows-as-a-Scam along with Timeline is a totally UNRELIABLE piece of crap. Disabled the crap. It can't even reliably load when you click on the Taskbar button. But disables all foreground windows, even as it fails to load. MS dimwits shipped an alpha feature.

Prayer for the Day: Dear God please ruin @HuaweiMobile @HuaweiIndia phone business as they're cheating liars who advertise features that do not really exist & waste customers' money. Dishonest companies should go out of business. They always #RethinkPossibilities of cheating you.

I wonder which laptops with touchpads that have physical/dedicated buttons score high on repairability according to @iFixit.

So @PortalFacebook's @GreatBigStory app is broken. Never plays any video. It just gets stuck with spinning circle. Everything else always works - Portal video calls, videos from other apps. Was probably the best app. But they broke it. /cc @Facebook @finkd

All browsers draw their own custom TITLE BAR on Windows which is absolutely wrong. They ignore SYSTEM title bar colors and prevent programs that minimize a window to the tray from working. All of them affected - @GoogleChrome, @Firefox and @Opera.

I wish gaming laptops had an option in UEFI BIOS to enable Intel GPU (Switchable Graphics) but only for encoding software/Quick Sync, while keeping NVIDIA GPU powering the laptop's internal display.

For video I don't like how @NVIDIA couples their encoding chip with gaming and pro GPUs only. They give NVENC only in GTX, RTX & Quadro CPUs means an ultrabook can NEVER have NVENC. If you're an IT Pro, you don't deserve a thin & light laptop with NVENC, only a bulky thick laptop

If Apple could make custom designed low-power NVMe controller for iPhone why can't @Qualcomm, @MediaTek, @SamsungExynos or HiSilicon? Samsung with their expertise in NAND flash & semiconductors? @SamsungSemiUS @KimKi_samsung Android phones are stuck on UFS. It's slower than NVMe.

The 2 biggest "bugs" in Windows-as-a-Scam are still: 1. You can't submit bugs/feedback via the WEB. Only via the stupid UWP app which also requires Telemetry to be on. 2. Forced insanely bloated worthless monthly updates, and occasional "upgrades".

It looks like @MicrosoftEdge does not work on @Windows 10 1803, the last version without the WRONG WINDOW CLOSING bug when red X is pressed in a multi-monitor scenario. Unless that bug is fixed (in the year 2100 maybe?), I won't "upgrade" to newer buggier versions of Scam 10.

Having had opportunity to use an LG G8s smartphone recently (& having formerly owned LG G Pro 2), I've a suggestion for @LGIndia @LGUSAMobile @LGUS @LGUK: get rid of notch but don't replace it with popup camera or display hole. Have a bezel like Pixel 4 or slim bezel like Meizu.
