The first 11 digits of the #Aadhaar number are random generated numbers and the 12th digit is the checksum associated with Verhoeff Algorithm scheme. As a consequence, it is easy to generate a valid #Aadhaar number.pic.twitter.com/V0jCwAuTrb

Theoretically there are 999999999999 Aadhaar numbers but only ~ 1200000000 were assigned, ie 0.12%. The chance of finding a valid number is slim

My view is that these fake adhar number cannot be authenticated. As they will not be in the serVer. So the moral is don't blindly accept adhar number as proof but authenticate it.

Just so people know. It is documented by UIDAI and it is not a secret. It has been known right from the days aadhaar started. A random #Aadhaar (even if it turns out to be valid) is of no use, as for authentication it needs matching bio-metric or demographic info on *server*

Shri @UIDAI ji would like to clarify that they indeed work 24x7 the same way their website is up 24x7. 😉 😉 It's not like there is anything depending on #Aadhaar that can't wait for the long weekend to get over. Right? #Aadhaar #DigitalIndia #slaveLife #zeroAccountability
