1/ In this request, the @narendramodi's #Android #application sends silently and without the user's consent, his IP address and a unique identifier of his phone. This personal data is sent to the website http://api.narendramodi.in  which is located in the US.pic.twitter.com/18Ie8JAuXM

IP Address and Device's Unique Identifier are two parameters that every scripting language in the world has the way to pickup without asking for it from the user. These are no way a privacy information and a large number of sites pick this info to serve custom info to their users

Why do you need device's unique identifier to serve custom info. The app ask users for signup so they must be creating unique customer identifier. They can use that customer ID to serve custom info.

Two things my friend. Device type and OS will help a developer in rendering the UI (user interface) correctly across all devices and OS versions. As for Device ID, it's needed to send push notifications. Just user ac may not be sufficient, coz users may login on multiple devices

Your latest tweet is false my friend. Please discuss with an Android developer to get the technical details

"false"? Do not wish to enter into a counter argument, but the information I wrote is correct to the core of it

No sorry, I will not write the full technical explanation here but it’s not working like this in Android. You absolutely don’t need the device info to render the UI.

Nope it doesn't works that way as @fs0c131y said that you need to have basic knowledge what's happening..even Google is able to ban app developers because they kept on clicking their own ads..so how they are able to do it?..using unique identification of their devices

At N number of times my friend. Have seen rendering issues happening between devices and between OS too. How about many pages apps opening directly from web in a web view. The HTML rendering can be different for different installed browsers, which apps open internally

However, I agree that's not the point of discussion here. The point is whether or not a permission should be required to capture user data. I agree permission should be required for the user fillable personal data, but not for the data like IP, Device info

If they ask, it's good, but if not, I do not consider it a crime. As these are anyways required for security reasons.

In the name of security it enables the state to hold its citizens prisoners if they want to do that one day.
