One minute after my post on @narendramodi's #android app, the "App team" created a new Twitter profile to discuss with me. We had a nice discussion. In order to be fair, here their first answer.pic.twitter.com/4JbdoSefpt
You can add location information to your Tweets, such as your city or precise location, from the web and via third-party applications. You always have the option to delete your Tweet location history. Learn more
Moreover, collect personal data of user without their consent is against the TOS of Google Play Store
You are spot on about this being an issue under GDPR. If the app collects data from European citizens then GDPR applies. Unfortunately, India does not have such a regulation in place as yet.
As far as I know, if you have European customers/users you have to comply to GDPR
That's absolutely right. Like I said if the app collects data from European users then they will be in violation. Although, post 25th May they will have to ensure compliance with GDPR.
#DeleteNaMoApp modi's team accepting your personal information is being used with to run analytics by a 3rd party without your consent. this is like giving keys to your house to a friend, who in turn invites thousand people into your home to have a party without consent.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ktlYSbib1bw … .Clearing UIADI have been sharing data for analytics to various BI tool companies since 2013?
They gave the same argument as that PayTM employee. We are good people,we don't use the data elsewhere. Good thing that these people are not making global apps otherwise they'd have been sued by people in Europe/US as they are aware of privacy related stuff.

In fact, if i had been using any of the apps/services in including this app, i would sued the respective company, government agency.( Hopefully, time would be the only constraint especially for a student)
Give me one good reason why?
What the Senate Committee of USA is delibrating is that the agreements between face book and analytica is made in such a manner to give a legal terminology to an illegal act of theft, why u think face book appologised. They know it that what they allowed analytica do was wrong.

The privacy policy of Narendramodi app says that it may share the user details with third-party companies. This privacy policy is accepted by all the users on app installation. If the user had accepted the policy, then how it can be illegal?pic.twitter.com/C1knRGQldU
Oh, law! But aren't we #GoI (Modi est l'êtat)? Hmmm. GPDR? Yes, but you know, we have a long history of signing deals we have no intention, and occasionally, capability, of fulfilling. We learned that from the wonderful people who invented Indian Reservations.
However in the app it is clearly put they don't share any info. Now isn't that absolutely wrong ?pic.twitter.com/15QR4iMCeA
