Hi @UIDAI and @ceo_uidai, let me show you one of the "unscrupulous elements". This governmental website is leaking 4769 files. In this open directory you can find biometric data, #Aadhaar card scans and more. http://pris.ap.gov.in/bpl/uploads/ pic.twitter.com/HugQ65MdYf

So yes this data is not coming from the #Aadhaar database but you have to admit that there is an issue here. If even a governmental website is not able to handle personal data of citizens correctly...

Sorry, then the campaign against aadhaar is false. You have to understand it first, in India, prior to Aadhar, we had to use one or the other documents as identity/address proof. So, these org. used to keep copies of PAN, Driving License, Voter Id, Bank Passbooks as Id proofs

When u search for these u will find several such docs. But, point here is since Aadhar as a unique identification number is made valid as id proof, most org accept one single doc. for id/address proof. No one force u now to submit other docs.

People dont like aadhar because it is linked to Mobiles/accounts/welfare services. and problem is with the websites and agencies who are NOT supposed to store aadhaar information, but storing it. That is violation of Law.

Aadhaar is INCOMPATIBLE with Democracy. Fundamental Rights & Entitlements CANNOT be held hostage to a yes/no response to your biometrics by the UIDAI. You do NOT cease to exist because the UIDAI says so. Aadhaar does not give identity. It destroys it. https://twitter.com/BharatVarma3/status/955497468287791104?ref_src=twcamp%5Eshare%7Ctwsrc%5Em5%7Ctwgr%5Eemail%7Ctwcon%5E7046%7Ctwterm%5E3 …

Having aadhar does not make you a citizen of India, nor not having it makes you a NON-CITIZEN. Going by your argument, PAN destroys your financial freedom, Driving license destroys your freedom to drive any vehicle anywhere. Aadhar is a way to index the services gov is providing

You can argue on secured methods of authentication by aadhaar, as institutes except are not supposed to keep the data. Not on the fact that having a unique Identification is a MUST in current world.

One should not care about that. Other's dont do it does not mean that we cannot do. You have to be a step ahead. If bio-metrics are not used in India, there could have been 200 Cr Adhaar cards floating in market. Like pan cards one person used to keep 4.

About 15+ years ago if you wanted free internet in India(dialup days) all you had to do is hang out in the VSNL reception and in a half hour you could walk out with about ten username passwords for their dialup internet. #india #InformationSecurity

@UIDAI: please don't clarify this is not your database. It contains data you have created and claim is not 'secret'. This is patent misuse, endangering property owners by exposing them to identity fraud. Please take exemplary action - this is an 'IT-aware' state, others are worse
