I don't think it is leaked from uidai's database. If an organization demand aadhar of a person as identity proof and it does not keep it secure then it's not uidai's fault. I am not taking their side but I am trying to be rationale. Also I can add 20,000-25,000 more to your list.

When the gov insists linking phone and bank details with Aadhar its asking us to give it to a third party. If the 3rd party lets the info out then the trust on the gov system breaks. Thats why dont make it mandatory, let people decide whom to give their info if gov cant assure.
-
What I mean to say is that the details would have not been leaked by those companies where we link aadhar (banks, telecom operators etc.) but instead by companies which ask us to share aadhar as identity proof (ex. Private competitive exams , freelancing companies etc.). (1/2)

(2/3) Gov. should make law to take action against companies due to which our privacy is broken but it is not totally in the hands of government. It will stop only if we are aware and ensure the security of data we're giving to them.
-
(3/3) Coz at the end of the day gov. won't take the responsiblity of our leaked data. It's true actually, what can a government do if you paste your details on every wall.

Imagine people misusing your publicly available card info. Like buying a new sim card connection and using it for something.
-
Sorry to say bro, its sad to see people behaving idiotic when they don't even understand the basics. Don't you understand that aadhar can't be used by someone until you authenticate using the OTP & biometrics ? Moreover, weren't these ID available publicly before aadhar came?

Indians are being coerced into linking their Aadhar number with all their bank accounts, cell phone numbers & income tax accounts, with the assurance of security & privacy. If possible, plz mask & publish proof that UIDAI has failed & this sensitive data is totally insecure.

Despicable attempt to ridicule UID genuine efforts n success to secure Aadhar data. It's very reassuring when one sees the visual depiction of their success. It looks like this with proper gate installed which only allows authentic access.pic.twitter.com/RZkRHODamS

Out of curiosity: wat is a Aadhaar number of use without Biometrics or OTP sent to registered mobile no?
-
To profile u
-
Plz elaborate.
-
To know all details of every transaction u do. . For example some firm might send huge number of advts to your wife for a diamond ring, the day you recieve a big bonus check Or send you advts of Psychology clinics when u lose a lot of money These are ex of very low harm things
-
For this to happen, the firm needs to have your aadhar linked bank account numbers and on demand access to your transactional data in the bank/banks. Are you kidding!?
-
-
Well this is where the Privacy Act comes into picture. Banks can’t just give our data based on the new judgement passes by SC. Also Wat is the timeline for that document snapshot with EnY
-
1) Ideally, yes. Not just banks, but any institutions should not give the data out. But that doesn't account for the chances of passing on the responsibility on account of rogue employees. Why get in the compromising situation in the first place?
