Be realistic, it is super easy for a foreign country to launch a #cyber attack on #India. This must be a concern at the national level.

Government employees are still running windows XP(pirated maybe) with native firewall disabled, downloading torrents and installing pirated Mp3's from shady websites.

I mean it's so easy to get physical access to government network. One can easily hack into pur countries main banking system (sbi). The other day i visited a sbi branch counter,3 open usb ports in front of me with no cctv coverage It's so easy to slip a lan turtle or rubber ducky

Yes it is and hacker groups from our loving neighbour Pakistan have been doing that in piecemeal basis since more than a decade. Now their big brother the Chinese (another loving neighbour) have also got into the act. Trust me we aren't cyber attack virgins.

Well, why it's not a national concern then? Why there is no national effort to improve the security level of governmental websites for example?

It is though not at a level that might be appropriate. Most important government websites are now run by NIC who have their security protocols (reasonable for government body with limited resources ). Lets not discount the skill deficit. This service wud rarely be imported. 1/n

Things are changing as more skilled Indians and IT leaders are joining governance and making government aware. Not to mention people like you. India is an elephant.. Things just take time to catch momentum.

On above points.. A suggestion.. Why not check out protocols of http://nic.in  websites. Will give a better picture of how worried Indians should be and your voice may reach the right people 3/end.

And the sadest part is that, no one cares about #Indian talents. If they found anything then, they are treated as criminals except of encouraging. 😠😠
