<Thread> Hi @Oneplus! Every time I boot my #Oneplus5, a HTTP POST request to http://apiinit.amap.com/v3/log/init is made. This request contains a timestamp and the code of the sending app.pic.twitter.com/7TEDCoMqTs
French security researcher. Worst nightmare of Oneplus, Wiko, UIDAI, Kimbho and others. Not completely schizophrenic. Not related to USANetwork. DMs open.

"AutoNavi Software Co., Ltd. is a Chinese web mapping, navigation and location-based services provider [...] AutoNavi was acquired by Alibaba Group in 2014. As of 2015, it offers its map services at http://amap.com " https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AutoNavi
The amap Android SDK provides "[...] map-related features, including: map display (including indoor and outdoor maps), interact with the map, draw on the map , Point of interest search, geocoding, offline maps and other functions." http://lbs.amap.com/api/android-sdk/summary …
This SDK is heavily used by @OnePlus in his apps. So it's not surprising to see this initialisation request which does not contain any sensitive data. But let's think...
Whenever an @OnePlus user starts his phone, this request is made. This is an information. It's mean a 3rd party company, located in China, is able to say when you boot your device without your consent.
.@Oneplus it will be good to send this request only when it's needed.
Of course, this request is made if you are not part of the User Experience Program
You mean the request is made regardless whether you're part of it or not? Or just when you haven't taken part.
Even if you are not part of it
