Hi @xiaomi
! Can we talk about your MiuiDaemon application?
This application is monitoring among other things Bluetooth, boot, broadcast, package, screen on events. Of course, all this data is sent to a China server.pic.twitter.com/vn2WVj7d5X
You can add location information to your Tweets, such as your city or precise location, from the web and via third-party applications. You always have the option to delete your Tweet location history. Learn more
So @xiaomi I have some questions:
- Why this super intrusive app is present in an user build?
- Do you really need all this data?
- Any way to opt out from this data collection?
There is clearly a lot to find in this app. It's cleary worth a deep analysis. If you have reverse skills, download the firmware, reverse this app and share with the world your results! http://en.miui.com/download-326.html …
If I remember correctly Xiaomi phones were banned by Indian Air Force
Well it looks like i'm "safe" even i know i'm not. I'm using their app called YI camera on my phone since i own their YI 4K camera. But i didn't found MiuiDaemon in the list. Crazy though all the informations they are sending to that domain :(pic.twitter.com/PIgwYPsZB9
