There are already 3 or 4 govt. ID systems that are securely issued from govt. owned offices and locally verified, without any biometric nonsense. Those systems can easily be strengthened.

No nothing is absolutely foolproof but multiple centralised checks can come closer. But this has created more problems than it solves. wrt "which imperfect..." . PDS cards could have been strengthened with better local verification and 'voluntary' direct cash transfer systems.

Bcoz the way Aadhar was rolled out was corrupted completely n destroyed any chance of it being a useful ID.Also biometric FP and IS are easy to fake since 2010 or so especially for motivated scamsters. So this was more about eating contract money and surveillance than welfare.

Im not saying there was a contract scam. I'm saying the contracts itself may have been unnecessary and roping in fly-by-night private enrollers was downright madness. And I don't care about the politics, it' a governance, privacy and security issue.

Dear mr Elliot, if you know these many flaws in ADHAAR why don’t the team of you intelligent and intellectuals do something to make this stronger so that no one can HACK that?? Or you guys are just to laugh at things instead of efforts to fill the pits??

Why should he? When @UIDAI claim Aadhar card is secure and safe(Nothing is wrong here). So let him exploit it.
