It only matters if they are encrypting the data during the communication/transmission or not. Isn’t it? If anybody has access to your SD card, then everything is anyway available unrestricted!

Any application with read/write access to the external storage can gain access to the files and modify them, adding something malicious. Looks like you have no clue how Man-in-the-Disk attack works. They never said files are encrypted, you can't open them in other apps after encryption.

But why is it a problem that files you have on your phone (sd card) are not encrypted? I don’t understand why It is .enc but maybe it is something else, don’t you think?
