Sounds amazing, though he really needs to think about some sort of open source licensing. To lay down the rules at what can & cant be done with the design to encourage community contributions and avoid exploitation by corporate money makers, those he's trying to avoid.

It's a newer generation with (allegedly) faster r/w speeds. Need to wait for comparison tests but this is theoretically a better drive than the original SN850 (which is already great, so personally as of today I'd still buy the cheaper, older one: amzn.to/3Nlq4Vm )

WD_BLACK SN850P has long been one of the top recommended SSDs for PS5, now they officially have a PS5 licensed version.
IMO 4TB remains out of reach at $550 but the 2TB version regularly gets on sale.
