Not sure I agree with Scotts takes most of the time but this stream of consciences was extremely well said and distills the core reason most L1's will fail long term.

quick explainer on canto’s no simping approach to integrations. we’ve seen new chains work really hard to attract large ethereum startups to add them. often times paying huge incentives in tokens, LM or other “out of band” compensation. canto didnt do that, but why? /1

The reason LSDs are so powerful is because they provide the most efficient function for determining the exact amount of liquid ETH demanded by users. Basically, 80% staked ETH means 20% of supply is needed/ desired for purchasing blockspace. There will be basically no “holders”

The entire bitcoin community seems to be sleeping on the fact that **taproot blew up the limit to transaction size.** You can now do a single 4MB tx taking up an entire block, storing 4MB of arbitrary data on every node forever. There was a war fought over this with OP_RETURN.

Lido creating their own protocol specific stablecoin (i.e crvUSD, GHO) seems like a good move to me. Have it be CDP like DAI, where users can borrow against their stETH/ETH at 0% but forgo their staking yield, which is given to stablecoin depositors in a variable yield.

Rocket Pool's social media and influencer presence is really good too. The constant sharing of validator setups and hobbyist culture is pretty dope and give it a sense of constant progress and building. For comparison Lido whitelists a batch of new node operators and 1000s
