I frequently use the memory palace during talks I attend or conversation to memorize paper titles and subjects I want to look up or consider later. It's a valuable *cultural* technique improving thinking. To illustrate the process, and encourage you, I will present an example:
4: nice view on the right | "heuristic search" | a very hairy stereotypical detective (hirsute searcher) 5: mailboxes | "bucket elimination" | 40k space marine with a bucket for a helmet, eliminating some heretics 6: turn off area (can't tell you b/c self-dox)

7: bottom of hill | "best-first search" | same detective with a blue 1st place ribbon 8: church on left | "AI benchmarks" | a droid on a bench (this is not a very good/vivid one) 9: pond near intersection | "the speaker has a textbook" | just a book floating there

At any rate. I don't think I'm especially good at this; it's important to practice the particular route & visualization more than I do. I think it's a pretty good showing since I did it while struggling to pay attention to a talk that was >6 hours ago! Try it!
