On this Memorial Day weekend, I'm reminded of my good friend Mac McKee, who was shot down and stayed shot down. We were the only Flight Officers and had a lot of fun together. I also am reminded of all the French Underground who kept me safe #MemorialDay #France #WWII #Maquis
I had no idea you were shot down over France. My great-grandfather was in the Belgian underground. He forged documents for Allied pilots shot down over Belgium, and my great-grandparents both hid pilots until they could move on France. Thank you for saving Europe.
