The 70c per word rate I received to freelance for SMH & The Age in 2002 continues to be the going rate for many freelancers today - that rate freeze equates to a 55% pay cut in real terms, 70c in 2002 equates to ~$1.09 today. rba.gov.au/calculator/ann #FairShareNine
