I think blanket banning athletes is stupid. It should be on the basis of if they are openly supporting human rights abuses. I'm still mad they banned Rublev, who took a huge risk opposing the Ukraine war, from Wimbledon, but regime-friendly Chinese players are ok.

Why do Belarusian athletes keep getting lumped in with the Russians? Where is the ban on North Korean, Chinese, Indian athletes if we are going that route, and where does this path end? If Lula makes fun of Zelensky, are Brazilians banned from Wimbledon?

When I was young, the Australian Open used to be my favorite slam because the audience is outrageously drunk and there is live tennis at 3am my time. Everyone is still drunk, but I have responsibilities now so instead of staying up late I have to wake up early. Still the best.

The Australian government that imprisoned Djokovic was "conservative," btw. If you suddenly noticed at the end of 2022 a bunch of leftist governments popping up all over the place, it's because in a lot of the world this is how "conservatives" handled the pandemic.
