Yeah. Because his videos are offensive and go against their terms and services and youtube's users largely don't like him. Why would they promote content that hurts their brand? Obviously there are people youtube has hired to study this sorta thing based on numbers, youtube...

...they are owed a continuous large income from youtube. The smart creators have either marketed themselves well, got involved with brands and branched out, or got a degree. You can't make youtube you're only job, for most creators youtube success won't last. Greg is just dumb.
