@fpillet The width was an unexpected benefit for me as well. Now it feels natural to center the keyboard rather than the pair.
After switching to a compact Apple kbd when last long-format one died, I came to appreciate the shorter hand travel time to magic trackpad

@mjtsai that’s right, better centering is a bonus. Arrows take some time to get used to (+ numbers which require shifting on a .fr keyboard)

@fpillet It's the function keys that I just can't give up. -
@landonfuller You don’t have to. I use them quite a bit, and once your muscle memory is trained to use the fn modifier you’re good to go.

@fpillet Exactly why I never used the long format one with an iMac as well ! Short keyboard + magic trackpad was my combo with no mouse ;) -
@fpillet yes, after years using the compact one I can't stand extended keyboards anymore
