The Puppies have tried to dox both me and my actual husband before; VD also tried and failed to sue me. I don’t expect they’ll believe me when I say they’re wrong, because if they cared about my opinion they’d have asked for it. Nonetheless, for the record: they’re wrong.

I wouldn’t particularly care, but they’ve gone to the trouble of linking to my actual husband’s work profile on their sites, presumably in the hope that doing so will have some negative repercussions for him or me.

This is evidently what passes for SF discourse among the Puppies these days: attempting to malign an academic by falsely declaring him the author of a blog they don’t like, on the presumable basis that if THEY don’t like it, then other academics won’t, either.

Which is... so, so very hilarious given that I’m married to a philosopher? Like. My dudes. Have you SEEN philosophy side-blog discourse these days? We have a professional philosopher friend with a public YouTube channel where he sings spam mail to famous opera tunes.

There was a philosopher who, up until his untimely death, had a blog where he rated all the flags of the world. My husband’s old supervisor used to collect street sweeper bristles, rubber band balls and books on mammals in the time of dinosaurs. He also meows to say hello.

The point being, if you’re trying to make a philsopher look bad in front of his peers by saying, however inaccurately, that he runs an anonymous blog about SFF politics, I guarantee no one will give a shit.

Why, then, am I bothered? Because the *intent* was to cause harm, or at least distress. The fact that the puppies remain as inept as they are myopic doesn’t mean I don’t think their attempt at fuckery should pass without comment.

So, yeah. That’s a thing that happened. *rolls eyes heavily*

Yeah, it’s pretty bizarre. Apparently there can only be one dude in all Australia with a maths/philosophy background and a connection to SFF, because Reasons.
