Dear everyone who has wondered, since playing the remastered games, if Crash Bandicoot was always this hard: the answer is yes, but you're forgetting that it was originally played by groups of screaming youths with cheat codes as a riotous spectator sport.

My defining memory of Crash Bandicoot was six kids jammed into a bedroom, huddled around a 90s convex TV set smaller than a microwave and arguing over whose turn it was after we'd unlocked all the levels with secret internet codes and still kept dying on every single one.
