In this very particular instance, no, I do not accept the logic that alt-Nazi stories are meant in backlash to the rising alt-right.

Are you sure the causation isn't really going the other way? Fiction has always been a tool for revealing and confronting evil in the world.
It has, but as she said, these stories aren't doing that. They're downplaying the problem by distancing it instead of confronting it.
