A family friend had a heart attack recently. He's doing well, but given that he's just been in the USA, was relieved it happened in Aus.

Here, the ambulance was free, as was his surgery, where 12 specialists were waiting for him at the hospital. Because universal healthcare.

AFAIK the only state in Australia that charges you for ambulance rides is Victoria.
