Having just said both words aloud repeatedly, I think "b" as terminal sound feels nicer than "d". An earlier, more primal sound, maybe?

Babies are able to say "ba" and "ma" before they're able to say "da", I think. Maybe earlier sounds somehow feel more satisfying?
