- of YA content is somehow inherently suspicious, or weird, or gross, or unseemly. Because YA content is *fiction*. We’re engaging here with things that ARE NOT REAL, which is exactly why fandom language and culture thrives on hyperbole, exaggeration and dramatic excess.

I kinda wonder how this relates to comics - ostensibly they're for teens (and I'd say that's the 'tone' of the writing and art), but its largest audience is adults (and of course, they've got their own, be it different, wank)... They may have more firmly entrenched themselves...
