Like! Every single character has a solid emotional throughline. Dialogue that fleshes out the characters gets to happen naturalistically, so when it becomes relevant later, like Lex's skill with computers, it neither feels overly foreshadowed nor introduced out of nowhere.

all this is why I refuse to watch the new films, bc I know I'll hate them too much

I recently reread this book. What impressed me was that Crichton thought of EVERY WAY this insane park could be made safe, w/redundant systems and containments, even to making all of the dinosaurs *female* (heh) and on a goddamned *island,* BUT STILL!

Detailed analysis perfection! It still blows my mind that Spielberg released Jurassic Park and Schindler’s List in the same year. And he wasn’t even at his prime. Hoooow???

Have you watched
#CampCretaceous on Netflix? Animated, but considered canon by the franchise. Best production in the JP universe after JP itself.

+1 on the Camp Cretaceous recommendation! It really does capture that Jurassic Park feel (the wonder, the natural character development, dinosaurs living their best lives...and gobs of child trauma).

I totally agree with you! I liked the second Jurassic World film a lot more than the first though

"sucks dinosaur nutsack" -- a phrase I will gently tuck away in my brain for later repeated use. Thank you Twitter for adding to my day. (And great thread BTW)
