So I finally finished the two-episode arc to which this warning applied and, basically, the plot involves a little girl, age about 8-10, being possessed and exorcised. She screams a lot and is restrained by adults as she thrashes, has some lines about spooky/scary stuff she sees-https://twitter.com/fozmeadows/status/1387661415826137090 …

Similarly, we see another child hiding under a bed from a murderer, while another witnesses her mother's dead body, and while those are both hugely traumatic events *narratively*, they don't call for physical restraint or exertion by the child actors.

Whereas in this case, the girl is tied up, screams a lot, and has to actively fight against the adults holding her. Which could so easily be really upsetting for a child actor! But it's not something I'd overly considered before this, because it's SO COMMON in western shows.

I'd been holding off finishing the arc, braced for the actress to have to say some disturbing lines you'd normally only give to an adult character or for abuse to be revealed or some terrible body horror, and instead it was just... a scene I'm used to seeing without warnings.

Anyway: this show absolutely WHIPS, but in addition it's also given me some thoughts about how I would, in fact, like shows to make sure their child actors have been carefully monitored and helped when performing scary/distressing scenes, and to tell me about it beforehand.
