I get that you're feeling uncomfortable and defensive right now. I've been there, even! And those are feelings you have the right to work through. But from experience, I'm going to say that trying to work through them on public, in twitter, by 'but but but-ing' is a bad idea.

I appreciate that, I do. What I'm trying to say is that the same history can be interpreted with very different patterns in mind. You looked for harmful racism and you found it (& I take responsibility). You could also look for championing and find it. -

- Calling out racism is more important, leads to more change, than calling out championing, I realize that. But it's a nearly one-sided hit piece. I'm not going to pretend I'm not bothered by that.
