maths! literally my worst and least favourite subject for the entirety of my school career! a subject I got special permission to stop doing after grade 10, even though at my school you were meant to continue to grade 11 at least, because I was gonna drop it in grade 12 anyway!

I’m sure your just venting, and not wanting a math nerd mansplainin’ stuff, but I can’t resist. Think of this as an opportunity to join the 0.1% who know how to make change.

oh, I can make change; I just don't like having to Do Maths as part of my day.

This is an HTG question, not intended as argumentative: how do you make sense of pandemic news and government responses without “Doing Maths”? (am curious what your partner thinks of this question too)

I suspect I have a different mental definition of what counts as Doing Maths than you do. everyday stuff like bank accounts, change, things in news articles etc, I'm fine with that, and I'm solid in the basics; it's having to sit down and work through problems on a page I dislike
