listen, not to go full galaxy brain on main, but VR game development could make an actual fucking FORTUNE with an animal crossing style furry game where you customise an avatar, can see your reflection & look down your body to view it, and then you just socialise & do tasks.

like oh hey, you're trans but can't transition yet, or aren't sure how it would feel? here's a VR sim where you can choose your appearance, look at your desired body and see how it makes you feel!!

I am vastly less excited by the prospect of getting motion sickness by yawing around in a spaceship than I am by customising what my brain will perceive in context as my external body and going HOG WILD on the options

Friend of mine tells about an early Exploratorium VR exhibit where you assembled your own body. Turns out, a lot of people like to have a middle arm. (You control the middle one by moving R&L in unison.) The control mits had little gentle zappies to provide tactile feedback. >

In the course of the game, you'd get little zaps at this or that juncture to cue the next move. The weirdest part, though: after you'd been playing a while, it'd zap you in both hands—and you'd *feel it in the middle one*.

Brains are so weird....
