Ok, Twitter. Dad & I have a running dispute about the value of gravy. I think gravy is something you only ask for as a passive-aggressive insult to the cook, to let them know the meat is dry. He thinks it's a compliment -- the meat's so good you want sauce from it. Who's right?

I think it’s neither of these: it’s there for extra texture and flavour, regardless of anything else.
