There's a brush turkey in my backyard and it's upsetting my chickens - what on earth can I do about it?? (Taking all tips, but with the proviso that killing or trapping native animals is illegal, so don't suggest that.)

I recommend just chasing it or throwing leaves at it

Have been doing that all afternoon and I think it's insufficiently intimidated by me to piss off completely :/ Even the 4 yr old "RAAAHHHHRRRRR"ing at it several times seemed insufficiently scary :(

Can you get an audio recording of a hostile Birb or other animal and play it at the turkey real loud?

That's a good idea! I'll have a look for something threatening! (I've locked up my chickens for the day in their cage, because they were getting very upset, so it's better if they're safely behind bars)

good luck! I was able to get rid of the kole bird that was haunting our garden by recording it and playing it back really loud; it thought another, bigger kole was in the same territory and fucked off
