My terrible suspicion is that, because tablets are comparatively new/difficult for her and kids can use THOSE, she's assumed they must therefore be able to use laptops.

Ugh. Ours did this in the spring for my (then) 8yos. By the time they typed a q the combo had moved on. It only worked when I typed for them.

As a teacher, now virtual, I didn't even show my elementary kids the chat. We practice raising our hand unmuting the microphone and muting. After 5 days I am impressed how well they are doing. It's still a long day.
