My son’s new second grade teacher is currently trying to teach a class of 7yos how to add photos to a slideshow over Zoom and I know this is hardly her ideal situation but my will to live is literally disintegrating.

Again, I’m sympathetic to the teacher here, she’s clearly doing her best. But I’ll admit to wincing when she told a kid to set up somewhere other than his bedroom tomorrow so he doesn’t want to lie down in bed, when the alternative is sharing the lounge with his parent.

We did that with my 7yo in spring, learning basic word functions over zoom. And printing worksheets was almost a daily thing. It was 3 long months. The new school year in September is supposed to start with in person learning but no-one knows how long it will last...
