You have no idea who I am, but as an sf fan for more years than you’ve been alive I want to commend what you’ve done here. This kind of nonsense needs to be spoken of and called out. I love this field and want it to be the best it can be. That doesn’t happen without criticism.

I’m so sorry. Yo mentioned in the article that you were non binary and in a tweet to Tempest I referred to you repeatedly as she and called you a woman. I apologize profoundly. We possessors if older brains (I’m 68 next month) can be slow at incorporating information.

No need to apologise! I go by both she and they, so there's no problem. My relationship to the word woman is... complicated? I don't always mind it, and sometimes use it myself, but I really disliked when Dawn used it, as it was trying to imply a shared identity that erased me.
