Am very glad I was a child in the 70s when the only options for both sexes were primary colors, earth tones, or plaid.
-
Yep. And I still prefer primary colours for clothes

We definitely shot for yellows and greens when we bought baby PJs for friends who were expecting.

It's so frustrating. My son loves Super Mario. He wanted pajamas; Primark had some. One in the girls' section, one in the boys' section. Same exact characters. The boys' pajamas are red & blue; the girls' are lavender. We bought him both, but why can't they sell just one type?

The fact that girls’ clothes for the same age group are sized *smaller* when they often get their growth spurts earlier, and yet are priced more than the boys’ stuff while still being flimsier...

Everything for girls is restrictively and mind bogglingly passive coded. I hate it.
-
And there are zero options for boys that like bright colours. Your closest option is a muted red And don't get me started on what happens when you have a boy with big feet. Kid's sizes stop at 5. Men's start at 7 Fortunately, he likes girl colours. Women's trainers are fine
