Here’s the thing I hate most about primary school homework: if it can’t be done without adult help (and it can’t), you’re not giving my child homework - you’re giving *me* homework, and you’re making me do a daily treasure-hunts to figure out what it is.

My mum would regularly scoff at the homework tasks i was given in grade six and just send me to school with a note saying she'd decided i didn't have to do it.

I opted my daughter out of homework entirely in kindergarten. It was a daily nightmare and made her hate learning. Not for us. She is still well above average in 4th grade now. You do you, mama.
