I have friends who've been subjected to police brutality and racial profiling. I've sat with a friend as she reported her sexual assault to the police after another officer told her to her face not to bother. I've also spoken to police who admit there's a wider problem.

Are there good cops? Yes. But the American police system is functionally broken. The number of bodycam videos of cops just flat murdering random people while the bodies lie in the street... police have issues in other countries, but the US is something else.
