"Tennis" and "hockey" aren't verbs, but "ski" and "football" are. (The verb form of "football" dates back to the 16th century!)

I like to imagine they do. I like 'tennisier' and 'hockier' (pronounced like 'sommelier'). Makes all that grunting and sweating much more sophisticated.
