Hey bud! This is really funny! Some friends of mine who literally made this exact joke in a hit podcast called
@duneboyspodcast literally last week. We’re all very proud of this kind of exposure for the DBoys, but could you credit them? Just standard procedure on the internet2 replies 2 retweets 26 likes -
But also,
@mrgipson and @modesty_contest (AKA Jeff’n’Dicky) really appreciate your support and hope you will keep listening. Again, please be sure to credit them in this post so everyone else can also enjoy the funny bit you shared here in a wonderful audio format!1 reply 0 retweets 9 likes -
never heard of it, but i’m happy for them!

Oh that’s crazy! You transcribed a long form joke from their podcast here. Nearly verbatim. That is a crazy coincidence.

Yes and we all know how Dune is a persistent and topical part of the zeitgeist so it’s not at all striking that two people made the exact same joke about Dune within days of one another in reference to a 54-year-Old dense sci fi tome. The kids today can’t stop talking bout Dune!

love that your premise here is "Dune is obscure" and also "these boyz made a podcast about" like....if your boys don't think Dune is obscure and dead, why is it SO ABSOLUTELY BATSHIT WILD to you that....someone else might also not think its obscure and dead?!?!!?

It’s neither obscure nor is it dead. But it’s also not on the lips and tongues of anyone besides mega fans and fringe academics so again, it’s not exactly part of the cultural group think at this particular moment.

Have you, uh... heard of SFF writers? Geeks who make constant references to whatever stories percolate to the top of their consciousness? This is like the time I got accused of stealing the story of a real thing that happened to me because, shock, it was a common experience.
