A way of dismantling whiteness is for white people to start naming their individual ancestries instead. (You know, the way a fifth-gen Chinese American is called Chinese, but a fifth-gen Dutch American is called white.) So if you didn’t call yourself white, what are you?

Lol, it’s a slightly recursive question in a way, as I’m Australian but now living in the US. So I do get asked where I’m from a lot, but it’s another colonised nation, so you have to track back another level for descent rather than personal origin.
