The fans are fine, it seems to be chrome-specific, and they were standard Windows updates. I haven’t tried restarting as it’s a comparatively minor issue, just... very weird
I would DEFINITELY reboot and see if the problem persists. Rule #1 of computers: Nothing is a real problem until it happens again after a reboot. If it still happens, I'd check for graphic card updates, via the manufacturer rather than Windows Update.
If it's a high-end gaming laptop, that means Nvidia Experience. Low-end gaming laptop, ATI Catalyst. Not-gaming laptop, Intel Graphics updates from your laptop manufacturer. Dell or Lenovo if you're lucky.
