Oh, yes, this is WAY normal in US. For specialists, it's even longer. FWIW, I have several specialists I see regularly, and if I don't make a follow up appt immediately and keep it, it's MONTHS before I can see them.

One problem is the concentration of physicians in specific areas so some areas are terribly short. There is no mechanism for distribution of care.
