This was my least favorite talk. It was mathematically illiterate and lacking in any understanding of the design of experiments. Surrounded by brilliant folks in data science and engineering, I don’t think a single one of them thought this talk was anything other than ridiculous.
It would have been improved by avoiding evidence entirely. A talk of all ESP anecdotes would have at least avoided laying bare the lazy thinking involved.
The arguments were slightly less wrong than “I flipped a coin 100 times and got 55 heads, what gives?” But only slightly.
