yeah, but we'd been divided by a lot! it's not just tech, it's mindset. we should work hard to get back to the basics

Culture > tech, but tech modifies culture. It's a lot like digital native vs digital immigrant. The interaction doesn't have to happen face to face, and sometimes it can't. But I've been participating in distributed teams for some years now, and that can work.

You just need a filter that helps you find like minded people similar goals easier to sync term dictionaries, lower communication costs. For me most of such meetings were chance meetings and happy coincidences, and we can't rely on those at scale.

And what I have in mind helps with managing joint resources, etc. It works without tech support ok, but for best results, you need triple entry accounting. Hmm, I should revisit my old notes, and perhaps expand them. I'll post a link to a doc once it is done.

It is a resource management and governance model, with smallish teams of 5-7 to maybe 13-15 participants. Once the number is higher the communication costs start to ramp up too much. In a small team flat governance & use of consensus to agree on goals is possible.

This comes from experience working in such teams. Each member has a core competence or several, and is responsible for their area with input from others. If you add a blockchain to the mix, it can help with managing joint resources. Anything with robust multisignature trees

capability is good for this. I've got idea from working with Bitshares, which has most of the required backend software since 2015, but no one came up with good UX for those use cases. Some of the functionality that is on the whole chain governance level, needs to be added to

facilitate such use on a smaller scale. Once you have teams who have common goals, but you need to direct something bigger, perhaps a self governance for an apartment building, you can join teams into meta team. Basically it can be something like CRM, but with value storage &

governance. The tools are out there. Anyway, I'll post a link soon, need to update an old draft with new stuff.

Oh, and while I am at it, what I am describing is more or less similar to this thing called fractopoly: https://web.archive.org/web/20101104062212/http://fractopoly.com/ …

It also checks out with small-scale society models and nomadic military organization.

I think it is scalable to the third level. 2nd level (groups of groups) falls inside the Dunbar number range, 13x13 is 169, which is closer to the lower border, and 15x15 is closer to the higher one, but still < 300, 18 is >, but 15 is pushing it for the small group efficiency.
