What kind of freedom? From the unfair cycle of life and death that is imposed upon us. She straight up says that out loud in No More Lies

Aye, the jailer told her that there was no choice in life and they're judged for their actions in the afterlife. The jailer, what made her believe him? What made her get over the similarities to frostmourne. What made her think he was going to be the ticket to freedom?

What made her believe him? He was the only one understanding her anger at the unfairness and offering her a supposed solution for a start. I love you and I'm not trying to be rude here I swear but I just don't see what's confusing about this motivation?

Can you direct me to where this comes from? What piece of lore did I miss where you read their meeting?

She clearly believes in his plan, that is transparent in NO More Lies. And the thing is, the bit about being slaves to the cylce of life and death and having no choice isn't even a lie, like all good manipulators he uses a mix of truth and deceipt

Which is fine but that goes back to the original point. Why does she believe him, the guy that's a walking frostmourne when the writing is on the wall that he's a bad guy. Either you turn sylvanas into a dummy or so blinded that she becomes manipulated/controlled again

this person made a great point about abusive situations and trying not to become the thing you hate the most. 'ours is a cycle of hatred' and all thathttps://twitter.com/wow_mandi/status/1412787341530480644 …

Mandi @wow_mandiSPOILERS You know, Sylvanas addressed the Jailer on a personal, peer-to-peer level by calling him Zovaal. She clearly believed them to have an equal partnership in their endeavors. Most NPCs call him The Jailer, but when she said “Zovaal, we already have what we need”Näytä tämä ketju1 vastaus 0 uudelleentwiittausta 27 tykkäystä -
I think it may be slightly telling that more women seem to understand why Sylvanas was willing to believe this clearly very bad and manipulative person who could definitely hurt her any time he chose, than men. I'm not even being funny here.

I get what you’re saying but I think if it is blizzard’s intention to parallel sylv&zov’s partnership to an manipulative and abusive relationship, they’re not exactly doing a great job of showing how the Jailer is manipulative. I think that’s what Nobbel is getting at- 1/2

- like everything we’ve seen of the jailer seems like he’s playing it all pretty straight forward not through manipulation. It seems improbable that from what Blizz has showed us so far that she was manipulated which is why ppl feel like this makes her look dumb?

he has been telling people different things though; sylvanas said the jailers goals were different than what denathrius said they were. and the best manipulators put the truth in their lies as well. sylvanas has been in a desperate situation for so long--

I think that’s perhaps the problem with the jailer? We’re not seeing him do any of these things we’re kind of just left to interpret from what a couple of his underlings have said. I don’t hate the current plot line but I get why others are frustrated with it I think.
