You improve by working. You don't NEED to do stuff if you don't feel like it. Don't let the twitter crowd influence you, most animators don't spend hours practicing after work. And that's ok. If you want to do stuff outside of work, do it for that reason, because you want to...

It's important to remember that people who post a lot on twitter may just not currently animate a lot in their role, may just not be working or work in a vastly different environment then you. And even if that is all the same, things work for different people.

Absolutely. I can't say what other animator's day is like, what projects they're on or anything, but my impostor syndrome can certainly make something up to make me feel bad about it! Haha. I'm a work in progress, what can I say
