Well sleep goes through 90min cycles, if you wake up in the middle of one, you'll feel tired, so if you try to take that into account it may help.. That is if you are able to fall asleep around a set time.

12 might be over sleeping. And are you consistent in your sleep time? Try keeping your bed time around the same time for a couple of weeks. It may help. Source: I sleep ~3 hours a night (I’ve looked into some things)

I haven't slept 12 hours in a while, but I was tired enough last night to roll into bed at 9pm. I need at least 6 to function. Thinking I might try to be consistently at 7 and see how it goes?

There's a website called sleepytime/sleep calculator that gave give optimal times for sleeping, based on when your going to bed or waking up! I find that always helps me!

hi Bex, i'mnot sure i slept at all…, its same old crap every year and i just blame the season…., whatever i tried it gets worse every year, but when the sun gets stronger again it disappears usually…:), so there is hope^^

7 hours is ideal for me, but I can do 5 hours or under 3.5 at a pinch. Where I get into trouble is at 4 hours. At about 3.5-4.5 hours I wake up wrecked. Any more that 7 and I'm also wrecked.

I’m lucky if I get 5. Your body only needs 4 consecutive hours to do its thing so anything over that is your body resting, so there is no real number. I think 7 is supposed to be the recommended but I feel awful sleeping that long

Hell ive almost slept 24hrs n it still wrecks my brain that i can be so tired and yet still not completely 'awake/energised' but i think it can also be determined on how one feels at the time of resting, mental health and or sickness can play a huge factor in outcomes.
