I talked to a hair dresser about doing one a few years ago, and he looked like he was about to have a heart attack, and asked "why would you want me to cut away all of the healthiest hair on your head?!" ...Because it looks cool D: (I did eventually chicken out)

Oh yikes! The one hairdresser I asked before said she'd had a sidecut and thought it was great fun. My mum's hairdresser balked at the idea. Kinda feels like there's no middle ground orz

i had a sidecut for a while! they're Very Sexy but require regular/monthly management to keep lookin fresh (if anything, it taught me how fast hair grows LMFAO) also: if you plan to grow it out after, just keep in mind it can take a while to even out!

Oh jeez I bet :( At least it'll get me in a habit of going to the salon more regularly (my average is every 6 months rn, whoops orz)

The biggest 'bad' thing I can think of is maintenance. There will come a point where the shorter hair is long enough to stick out everywhere and you'll have to go get a shave again. It comes sooner than you think.

after being kinda worried about it for a long while and being told it "wouldn't work with my hair type" I say BOLLOCKS TO THAT go for it because I have not regretted it a single time since I got half my head and then my current mohawk! BE BRAVE IF YOU RLY WANT IT

They’re a lotttt of maintenance- you gotta wash/style most days, and depending on how short you go you have to get it clipped every 4-6weeks. I chatted with my stylist about it and eventually decided against it because it was too much work/money to upkeep 1/2

- and it would have taken SO LONG to grow out if I got bored of it. They look so cool but it’s definitely a “be 100% sure before you take the leap” thing

I have one right now and I love it! My hair grows really fast, though, and starts getting shaggy after two weeks. I just bought a buzzer on amazon and my girlfriend helps me trim it down, its simple and saves on having to pay a hairdresser to do it

I had this cute for about 3 years. I loved it in the summer. Keep it long enough to pull back. Only problem I had with it was growing it out. I had to go short to help it grow out evenly.
