A family with two minimum wage earners making $15 an hour instead of $14..would have $2400 more at the end of the year WITHOUT your BS tax reduction. You're peddling a scam to make yourself look good while lining your rich pals pockets. No integrity at all. #onpoli

A raise to $15. would have given them more money in their pocket. Stop trying to spin this. You've hurt low income workers, again.
#onpoli -
Except when workers get laid off because employers can't afford $15.
-
Studies have shown that doesn't happen. We raised the rate to $14. and the sky didn't fall. Stop believing what the rich guys are telling you. They don't like to share. The head of the Chamber of Commerce sent a sarcastic tweet mocking poor people. What don't you understand?
-
The rich guys don't worry about $15.
-
Sure they do. They don't want to cut into their profits so people can earn $15. It means they have to keep the Range Rover a little longer. Cut short the vacation in Tahiti. Poor souls.
#onpoli -
the 'rich guys' just look at the numbers and automate when it becomes cheaper than paying people (incl benefits, payroll tax, insurance, etc.)

@PattyOLimerick Have you seen this? Ford is subsidizing Walmart and McDonalds so they can pay their employees next to nothing. This shit enrages me. -
Yep, Ford's making Ontario taxpayers subsidize their wages instead of employers
-
Omg I loathe Ford

Except a $1/hr rise in the minimum wage would have given them more $$ to spend into the economy. Instead, this is how your supporters celebrate that ‘saving’
#ForThePeople who are already well-off! https://twitter.com/roccorossito/status/1079923839528824832 …#ONpoli#MissPoli#MississaugaLakeshore@RudyCuzzettoThis Tweet is unavailable. -
I've posted this before, I'll post it again...we are totally better off with a wage hike. Even at the low end, you STILL get more take home with an extra $1/hr...pic.twitter.com/anZm5qwa7P

I downloaded the tax tables for Ontario in 2019 for payroll purposes, and this simply is not true. The exemption for Ontario is $10582, not $30000. In order for people earning less than $30K to get this reduction at source, the exemption needs to be $30K. It isn't.pic.twitter.com/0dScuEUoOq

These are the tax tables downloaded into my payroll system. On each line there would be a name, but I excluded that for obv reasons. This is the information EVERY SINGLE payroll person will use commencing Jan 1.

Great job Doug. Don't listen to the cry baby left wing pansies that never have anything positive to say.
-
If he’d kept the $15 minimum wage, low-incom earners would have taken home more money than this tax break gives them. You understand that, right?
-
I understand it's probably a wash but now there is a job for said person rather than the business closing, contracting, or leaving. I also understand you are the cry baby left that I said has nothing positive to say or contribute ever.
-
Wanting poor people to earn more is positive, don’t you think?
-
It's not that simple. What do you think companies do when their labour costs go up by 10 or 15% like they did last year? Do you think they say "hey let's make 10% less next year"?
-
AHHHHH. Dammnit Fuzzy, don't try to comfuse em with DATA and FACTS!
